Hands-on software exercises—detailed demonstrations—information sessions

The CARIS 2016 World Tour is about learning the latest CARIS technology through a combination of hands-on software exercises, detailed demonstrations, and information sessions. It will provide opportunity for the marine community to learn about the next generation CARIS software architecture, as well as other technology trends that will reshape the hydrographic industry. Each stop on the CARIS 2016 World Tour will provide a three-day workshop, and participants can register to attend one, two, or all three days.

Audience: The World Tour will be relevant to surveyors, data processors, cartographers and GIS technicians, as well as special sessions for managers and decision makers who want to understand the latest technology and trends in ocean mapping and how CARIS software will bring benefits to their organization in the future.

Topics: The World Tour topics will include sessions on the next generation CARIS software, near real-time sonar data processing with CARIS Onboard, variable resolution surfaces, IHO S-100 and related product specifications, as well as updates on the latest tools and features for efficient hydrographic information processing, management, production and discovery.
