The West Australian Region of the Australasian Hydrographic Society cordially invites all AHS members and guests to attend our Technical Presentation to be held on

The “HIVE” (Hub for Immersive Visualisation and eResearch ) at Curtin University offers “state of the art” visualisation systems for displaying data more effectively and imaginatively. We are fortunate to have secured four presenters from the Centre for Marine Science & Technology (CMST) to present on their important research work:

  • Using multibeam systems for mapping marine ecosystems - Dr Iain Parnum
  • Recent developments in ship hydrodynamics modelling and measurement at CMST – Dr Tim Gourlay
  • Fishing and pinging: what role can echo-sounders play fisheries management? – Dr Miles Parsons
  • Conducting a 3D Imaging Survey of HMAS Sydney (II) and HSK Kormoran – Dr Andrew Woods

If you would like to attend please respond via AHS website http://www.ahs.asn.au/Events.html or, please advise Steve Duffield, no later than Close of Business 05th May 2016. Steve may be contacted on: (08) 6477 4400 or s.duffield@fugro.com

For those who have not ventured to the “HIVE” at Curtin University, entry is via the John Curtin Gallery, Building 200A, on Curtin’s Bentley Campus (see below map).
