At the 60th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UN/GA), under the Agenda item on the Oceans and the law of the sea, Resolution A/60/30 was adopted on 29 November 2005. This resolution includes the statement, “Welcomes the adoption by the International Hydrographic Organization of the 'World Hydrography Day', to be celebrated annually on 21 June".
