AHSCP Fees & Payments
Certification under the Australasian Hydrographic Surveyors Certification Panel (AHSCP) Scheme comprises two components and four optional sub-specialisms:
1. AHS Membership
Current AHS membership is required for certification. From 1 July 2026, all applicants and certificants must hold active membership with the Australasian Hydrographic Society (AHS). The annual AHS Individual Membership fee is AUD $75 per year.
Note: The AHS membership fee is waived for the 2025–2026 financial year during the transition period.
2. Certification Assessment Fee
The certification assessment fee applies to both CPHS Level 1 and CPHS Level 2. It costs AUD $300 per application.
This fee covers:
- Panel assessment

- Application review
- Qualification and experience evaluation
- Award of Certification
- Administrative processing
3. Optional Sub-Specialism Endorsements
Applicants may apply for one or more recognised sub-specialisms. Assessment Fee per sub-specialism is AUD $250.
Recognised sub-specialisms include:
- Hydrography in support of Coastal Management
- Hydrography in support of Inland Waters Management
- Hydrography in support of Offshore Infrastructure Development
- Hydrography in support of Safe Navigation
Recertification
The recertification fee structure will be published shortly.
Recertification requirements apply in accordance with the AHSCP Continuing Professional Development (CPD) policy.
