The Australasian Hydrographic Society (AHS) is pleased to announce that its internationally recognised hydrographic conference program will return to Australia in 2021 (changed to 2022). The three-day Hydrospatial 2021 Conference is planned for the period 27-29 October 2021 (changed to 16-18 February 2022) and will be held in Cairns QLD at the Pullman Cairns International Hotel. A Conference Committee has been established and planning is well developed.
The theme of the AHS 2021 Conference is: ‘Hydrography of the Future’. This theme will focus on how the hydrography will develop further into the future noting the development of ‘Digital Twinning’, and the emerging name variants for ‘hydrography’ such as ‘hydrospatial’ or ‘hydrogeomatics’. The theme has been chosen as it morphs two modern yet wide-ranging aspects of the hydrographic surveying profession that should draw conference papers from relevant scientific, technological, operational, and environmental communities. The aim of this theme is to provide conference delegates valuable insights, creative ideas and inspiration on how to harness current and future technologies, systems and processes available to hydrographic survey specialists so that they can cope with present challenges and prepare for a more sustainable future.
The Australasian Hydrographic Society welcomes hydrographic and related professionals plus anyone interested in our changing world to the Hydrospatial 2021 Conference.
